Taal Town is one of the Philippinesʼ hidden destination gems just a few hoursʼ drive from Manila. Known as the place where ʻtime stands still,ʼ it boasts an amazing array of historic and cultural notoriety, heritage sites, architecture, and spiritual landmarks. Being an important focal point of planning and staging during the Philippine Revolution, the townʼs acclaim is forever intertwined within the glory of the Batangas region.
The mission of Kultura Ng Balisong (KNB) is to preserve and revitalize the culture of the Filipino handmade (FHM) balisong. KNB aims to spread awareness of its heritage through cultural and first-hand experiences. KNB was inspired by the film documentary, Way of the Balisong. The balisong culture and industry in the Philippines is fading drastically. Once a booming industry and a part of the daily life of a Batangueno and other Filipinos, the FHM balisong will likely be obsolete in the generations to come. In collaboration with the Way of the Balisong documentary, we aim to not only keep this part of the Filipino culture alive, but to help it prosper.
